Dub

Add Dub to your product for your customers, and give your AI agents governed access to it.

Dub does not fit neatly into any catalogue category: it is link infrastructure with attribution analytics, so the nearest fit is lookups and reports rather than campaigns. The API at api.dub.co takes a bearer key that is scoped to a single workspace, and every link belongs to a domain plus a key, with creating an existing key on the same domain returning a conflict rather than overwriting. Analytics are read from a single endpoint parameterised by event type (clicks, leads or sales) and a groupBy dimension such as country, referer or device, so one call shape covers what other tools split across many reports. Lead and sale attribution is not automatic from the link alone: the click id arrives as a dub_id cookie on the destination page and must be sent back when you record the conversion, which is the step teams most often miss. Custom domains have to be verified in the workspace before links on them resolve. fastn holds each customer's workspace key, keeps it current, and keeps link creation and analytics reads attributed to the right tenant.

In your product

Embedded for your customers. Per-tenant auth, no per-customer code, maintained by fastn.

Let a customer connect their own Dub workspace so links your product generates live on their verified domain

Create a tracked short link per campaign asset your product produces and store the returned link id alongside it

Pull click and conversion analytics grouped by country or referer into your own reporting screens

Record a lead or sale conversion against the captured click id when a customer's signup completes

For your AI agents

Governed, audited access for the agents you build, through the MCP server.

Let an agent create a short link on a tenant's verified domain and report the resulting URL, with creation audited per tenant against that tenant's workspace key

Have an agent summarise which links drove the most clicks in a period and from which referers

Allow an agent to check whether a conversion was attributed and explain the missing click id when it was not

Example prompt

Which of our Dub links got the most clicks last month, and which countries did they come from?

Set up Dub in 4 steps

  1. 01Enable the Dub connector from your fastn dashboard.
  2. 02Have each customer authorise their own Dub account, so calls run under their credentials rather than a shared key.
  3. 03Decide which lookups, results and reports your product needs, map those fields, then enable the actions and triggers you want.
  4. 04Call it from your product and expose it to your agents through the same governed connection.

Why teams use the Dub integration

What you get by embedding it with fastn instead of building it yourself.

  • Ship a Dub integration without building it. Your customers connect their own Dub account inside your product and work their lookups, results and reports there, with no per-customer code on your side.
  • Handle the part that actually costs time: these are metered read sources, so an uncached lookup on every page view burns the customer's allowance. fastn owns the auth, token refresh, rate limits, pagination and breaking-change fixes, so a Dub update is not your on-call problem.
  • One integration serves your product and your agents. The same governed Dub connection powers in-product features and gives AI agents scoped, audited access, so you answer questions from an authoritative outside source without holding that data yourself without wiring it twice.

Dub integration FAQ

How do I add a Dub integration to my product?

Enable the Dub connector in your fastn dashboard, then let each customer authenticate their own Dub account. fastn handles the OAuth flow, token storage and refresh per tenant, so there is no Dub client code in your app and no per-customer branch in your codebase. Setup is 4 steps.

Do my customers each connect their own Dub account?

Yes. Every connection is scoped to the individual customer, so each authorises their own Dub account and only ever sees their own lookups, results and reports. That per-tenant isolation is the point of an embedded integration: you support the long tail of customer setups without maintaining an integration per customer.

Can AI agents use this Dub integration?

Yes. The same connection is exposed to your agents through the fastn MCP gateway, with permissions scoped per tenant and every call audited. Let an agent create a short link on a tenant's verified domain and report the resulting URL, with creation audited per tenant against that tenant's workspace key

Who maintains the Dub integration?

fastn does. When Dub changes an endpoint, deprecates a field or alters its auth, the fix lands in the connector rather than in your backlog, and your customers' connections keep working.

Whose credentials does a Dub lookup run under?

Each customer's own. Quota and cost land on the customer that caused them rather than on a shared key you have to meter and re-bill, and one heavy customer cannot exhaust another's allowance.

How should Dub results be cached?

Per tenant, with a window that matches how fast the underlying data actually moves. Dub is a read source rather than a system of record, so the same query returns the same answer until the source changes, and caching is the difference between a sustainable integration and one that exhausts a customer's allowance on a busy page.

What can I build with the Dub integration?

A common starting point: let a customer connect their own Dub workspace so links your product generates live on their verified domain. Teams also use it for the other use cases listed above, and expose it to agents for governed reads and writes.

How much does the Dub integration cost?

It is included. Pricing is based on connected accounts, not on how many connectors you enable, so adding Dub does not change your per-connector cost. You can start free with 3 connected accounts.
